Again & Again

Performative installation together with Niyousha Azari - Hamburg (GER) - 02/26

A mass of sand and water is pressed into a mold - compacted and held under pressure until it coheres. A pillar emerges: solid and upright. For a moment, it stands. Then, at once, it breaks apart. Again & again, this act is repeated: The cyclical gesture of mixing, compressing, and forming becomes an exertion of force against a material that never fully yields. Each structure already contains the terms of its own collapse.

In the background, a film unfolds in fragments - narratives that echo women’s struggles, dispersed memories of resistance and endurance.

The work traces the uneasy poetics of imposed order: the fiction of stability and the quiet violence required to sustain it. Collapse is not interruption but revelation - an opening through which the fragility of enforced order becomes visible.
