Again & Again
Performative installation together with Niyousha Azari - Hamburg (GER) - 02/26
This work unfolds in cycles of building and collapse. Sand and water are gathered, pressed into a mold, held under force until they seem to cohere. A pillar rises - upright, composed, momentarily convincing. For a brief time, it holds. Then it collapses, slipping back into formlessness.
Again and again, the gesture repeats.
The work reflects on systems that seek to contain and discipline women’s bodies and lives - shaping, correcting, holding them in place. What appears stable is continuously produced through pressure and insistence. And yet, this stability remains fragile: each form already carries the conditions of its own undoing.
A film is projected on wall and bodies. Fragmented images surface and dissolve - traces of women’s struggles, resistances and acts of endurance. Dispersed voices, refusing to settle into a single, fixed narrative.
