Caring for Common Ground

Performative public intervention with Levin Lehmann and Vinzent Müller - Transformale 2023 curated by Rechenzentrum E.v. - Potsdam (GER) - 07/23

Public space can be read as a living archive, revealing the city’s layered histories. Around the Rechenzentrum in Potsdam, the ground itself bears witness to political, ideological, and social transformation: fragments of past structures, traces of interventions, and shifts in materiality form a complex palimpsest — an ongoing material dialogue about power, contested values, and changing ideas of urban renewal.

Caring for Common Ground is a series of performative interventions addressing the repair of both the physical and emotional layers of this shared site. Through metaphorical gestures, the project explores how care and repair can become acts of resistance and reclamation. Moving between reality and fiction, reason and intuition, the interventions unfold as a public act that reconsiders how we inscribe meaning onto our common ground.
